I live on a cul de sac 3 minutes off 581. Vehicle will be safe and out of the way there if needed. From my house we could be on 81 in 10 minutes in traffic. In fact its probally dead center field for this crew.(well home plate for me)

Onager, Hsb, York & Lancaster. I see possibly, you GBJ & me hooking up! Hsb may be the best place for jumping on Rt. 81?? Great! Let me know the details when we get closer. If we need an extra vehicle for ice chests etc. I can pop a bench seat out of the back of my Safari van.

As it stands, Bill Graham and I plan to leave early enough to arrive in the afternoon on Thursday so we can hunt on Friday. Anyone who would like to return to TN after the hunt, Bill is going back to different parts 2 more times within 2 weeks. I think he just likes TN. He is a travelin' fool since he retired.

Loggy. Based on prevoius experiences in Tenn. What should we bring re. clothing/boots? What is the terrain like? Should we be prepared to travel light if hunting with dogs? First of a thousand questions. Last month before the hunt! ;D ;D ;D ;D The hardest part of this or any anticipated hunt is not grinning to much as I head out the door.

First of a thousand questions. Last month before the hunt! ;D ;D ;D ;D The hardest part of this or any anticipated hunt is not grinning to much as I head out the door. As always bring some rain gear with hopes it wont be needed! ;D Terrain is a lil hilly but not overly steep. Sorta like south mtns in PA. Not too ruff but there are some very thick rocky laural areas.. I would bring some lightweight camo & insul UW in case temps drops. Maybe throw insul coat in bag just in case. Boots, something comfortable with lite insul should be fine. Good walking boots with lite insul say 200 or 400 thinsulite(max). Its best to be prepared to travel lite if huntin with dogs but also have some back-up while you are stand/stalk hunting. Average low is 37 & high 57. Bring a F.O. hat to wear. Onager, im already grinnin!! Cant wait! Crossville, TN Average Temps

Ok next question. I'm one of those guys raised to do his fair share. Food. Will we buy food down there and split cost? Bring our own food as a group? Each guy on his own?(this is of course seperate from the planned meals) I guess I'm nominating you the benevolent dictator.

onager, they have 2 full size refrigs. Last 2 hunts each brought their own grub for lunch(sandwich meat, snacks, juice etc). Eve's we hit some nearby restaurants exception being the catered nite(Sat).
Breakfast, many brought their own cereal, oatmeal etc but we did also bring some eggs, bacon, scrapple etc.. The guides arrive before daylite so no time to eat out. Coffee is already in kitchen. Salt, pepper etc also in kitchen.
What you all think...maybe breakfast. Who can cook??? ;D Im willing to bring eggs and some scrapple. Someone can bring bacon, some bread, butter etc.

Loggy, I'll nominate myself, my son Ken, Skip, and Bill Graham to handle a breakfast or two. We'll take care of bacon, bread, butter, juice, etc. The cooks don't do dishes, however.
Loggy, have a great week at camp and "make meat"!
My son, grandson, and I will open the season in 4C. Where we hunt is on public land and about a 45 minute drive. You never know what to expect, but I'm sure there will be enough ML'ers to stir things up. I just hope one walks by the grandson.

Hi Loggy, Don't know if you re'd my msg. about my brother-in-law, Bill Graham, and the venison chili. He will make a large pot that should take care of all of us for a dinner or a come in for lunch deal. We will include crackers , rolls and cheese also. Let me know how this sounds. As stated before, he is an excellent cook so I guarantee that it will be good. Probably toss in a few bags of salad, also. Skip
