I carry a Ruger Blackhawk in 357 magnum. I use 158 grain loads for this one.
Use it mostly as my "OOPS HE AIN'T DEAD YET" gun ;D

T/C contender in lots of calibers...RED DOT SCOPE...the .357 HERRET is a real big banger, shooting the 158 grain hollow points alot faster than any .357...it just floors them out to 200 yards....my favorite is the .223 with 50 grain Barnes X bullets..one lung shot and it's over, period....like the variation....but my favorite is still my S&W 686 six inch in .357...

T/C Contender 14" 35REM ,but on my hip you'll find a Ruger Blackhawk 5 1/2" 45Colt, Win brass CCI350 ,250gn Hornady XTP and a stiff charge of Win 296 to get things moving

Have only HUNTED with the Contender in 14" 44mag with 2x Leupold scope. Also 14' 358jdj(very accurate, lots of recoil) With Burris 3-12 and now 2-7 Busnell. Oh I did kill a doe with my 38special derringer(pause for dramatic affect)to finsh it off after I shot it high in the back(oops) I would like to hear more about the 50 gr Barnes bullet and loads in the .223 contender.

I'm with Frank - too many T/C barrels, not enough time.
My trusty tag filler is a 14" 7-30 Waters. Handloads. 2x7 Burris 120 gr. Hornady #22811 Federal 210 34.7grns. /IMR 4064 (NOTE: ONLY SAFE FOR USE IN MY BARREL) COL: 2.873"
Last 3 years, I've carried a 14" 41 Magnum topped with a 2x8 Weaver/handloads for the first tag and a 14" 35 Remington/2x7 Burris/handloads for the second tag. (I'll have to look for those loads)
Carry a 14" 22 match barrel for all the small game work.

I carry my Blackhawk in .357 with 125 Rem hollowpoints ahead of some WW 296. Has taken 1 doe and perhaps will get some more if I remember to put it on my hip lol.

Being *disabled* and use a cane for help I like the Encore pistol . Some will say it doen't fall under a *handgun* but a mini rifle but either way it is an all around nice way to hunt ground hogs or anything else that you feel like... Just think of it as a short stock rifle... ;D MM

Ruger Super Redhawk, .44mag with a Bushnell 2-6x scope shooting handloaded Hornady 240gr HP-XTP (deer) or 300gr HP-XTP (bear) over a stout load of H110. Sighted to be dead on at 100yds from a rest. I've taken several deer with it (no impressive racks) and no bears.....yet! The circle is 3" in diameter.
