Danner makes a great boot-------Much better than Rocky!!! I always bought Danner's but have bought Irish Setters the last two times. My advice would be to get the Irish Setters or the Danners. (This message has been approved by my feet!!!)LOL Encore28

Danner Pronghorn 400 grams Thinsulate with Gore-Tex. I bought them last year they are a great boot warm and dry. Timberland used to my favorite but they stopped making them. Hard to beat Danner's..

This topic comes up on almost every site I frequent. I personally have had two major problems with Rocky boots and would NEVER buy another from them. On the other forums it seems to run about 50/50 on Rocky boots, but very little complaints at all about any of the other major brands like Danner, Irish Setter, Redhead, Proline, Herman Survivors, etc. Keep in mind they're all or darn near all, made in China

depends on the style of boot, danner makes a great boot. rocky has a couple good boots as well, IMO i've owned both and the rocky will last about 1-2 years hard wear and tear, danner i've found to last longer. i've also tried wolverines and carolina. I love my pair of carolina boots. made in pa, union made, and great quality.

to listen to some talk i must have gotten the only decent pair of rocky boots ever made, i wear them alot during both hunting and off seasons because they are so comfortable.
i am about to complete my 9th season with these boots and they will have no problem going a few more, only thing wrong with them is that the heels are starting to wear on the outside edges a little due to the way i walk.
the leather has become soft but are still in excellent condition other then that, while they were the most costly boots i ever owned' they are also by far the best!!!! JM2 cents
