14 Muzzleloader Kills. All taken PA State Gamelands or State Forest. Nicest buck was an 8 Pt. killed with an Optima Pro w/348 grain Powerbelt Aerotip in 2003.

Only 2 does with my flinter and one doe with my CVA in-line. Did manage to shoot where an 8 pt wasn't with my flintlock one day lol.

I have hunted with a .54 cal T/C Renegade since 1981 and have killed approximately 70-80 deer with it. Last year I purchased an Omega and have managed to kill 6 with it and another 4 with the Renegade the last two years. The following picture are some I have taken on public land in west central Alabama.

WOW Loggy. Now your making me think on a Friday night!
I think the count is 37. Most have been does over the years but I have taken three buck. Biggest was a six point.
Most memorable was actually one of my dads. He did not hunt much and with bad knees , never walked far in the woods. There was an area near our old cabin we called, "the parking lot". Part of an old YMCA camp. Dad was standing there to catch a smoke and enjoy the view when a three point (pre-antler restrictions) walked out into the parking lot. Dad only had a chest shot. He leveled an pulled the trigger. Just as the gun went off the deer dropped its head to feed. He hit him square between the eyes. ;D
That deer had been shot in the front leg earlier in its life and had a broadhead in its rump. Guess it had run out of lives when it met Dad.

Have got 7 Doe with a Flinter, including a Pibald. One I called the Circus Deer. Saw her coming straight at me and whacked her in the Head. At the shot she went straight down on her knees and sprung up in the air and did a complete somersault and when she hit the ground she started kicking like heck and eventually ended up at the bottom of a steep hill!! Darndest thing I ever witnessed!!

Probably more years hunting, and less deer shot than most , but my excuse ;D ;D is i often dont shoot does , and the bucks come hard in the late season,i have taken 6 does and 2 bucks in our late season, and one doe with my encore in the early season.the best buck was a half racked 8 pt.the other was a spike a long time ago.

Two large does in the last two years. The bucks only come out during bow season and hang up at that 100 yard range. ;D

I've been deer hunting since 1972; a late bloomer, at age 23, to speak. I've been hunting with flintlocks since 1978 when I got and built my first my first rifle from a kit. That first shot I fired sunk the hook deep in me. I've only missed out on getting two doe tags over the years here in PA. I only have 7 unfilled tags. All the meat, hides and antlers get used as well as a lot of the bones and dew claws. I've only ever owned six flinters and hunted many regular seasons with them as well as those designated for them. With the flintlocks my totals are nine bucks and twenty-four doe. My favorite hunt was in a rain storm. About 40 minutes after the deluge there was light misty gusts of wind 25-35 mph. I sneaked around on three field grazing doe I'd spotted and put a staight on throat shot, down hill 40 yards (paces) that entered the white bib, went through the heart and exited just forward of the sternum. While dressing out the doe, I saw the shot had broken the underside of the backbone at the neck area, hwich explained her dropping straight down dead. Here's that does picture:
