while at one of the local sports shop the other day. a guy came in with some arrows that were ripped up due to the wb rest. he asked if they could put new vanes on and got the answer that nobody did that any more. they just buy new one's . well not this guy when i buy i strip the vanes and install what i want . so i was wondering does anybody else still do these or are they really just throw aways. my arrows cost ten dollars a piece there's no way I'm throwing them away. unless there bent

The shop I go to still does. They charge out the butt though. I used to fletch my own because it was cheaper when practicing with broad heads. I used the Bitzenberger jig in helical. I lost it in the fire and haven't fully recovered my sporting goods arsenal. My opinion is that if the shop doesn't do that, they aren't a real archery shop and should not claim to be such. Next thing you know they wont trim them to length either.

When it comes to building arrows ,I buy raw shafts 2" blazers and fletch them myself.I use a Jojan 6 arrow jig ................and now I can even cut my own arrows with the addition of a Cabelas arrow saw

Although yes if an archery shop dosn't want to fletch your arrows I would find a new archery shop.

Has anyone used the NAP Fletching and wrap combo that you just place in hot water and it shrink wraps? Looks fast with no waiting to use the arrows.

Yes and it works well! It is quick and easy the only thing I found was they can be a pain to remove when you need to change them out but they do work well.

Yes, I would definately go to another qualified shop. The arrows I use cost over $200.00 a dozen so I know I wouldn't junk them for nothing unless they are damaged. I have also been experimenting as usual. I've found myself fletching all my arrows with six vanes. Using my Muzzy rest my arrows fly like darts. I'm assuming the arrows are receiving more rotation because of the extra vanes and are stabilizing faster. I'm shooting amazing groups out to 65-70 yards. I'm using 1.5 inch vanes so not to place to much weight on the back end. It seems to be working quite well for me. Try it and tell me what you think.
