The season is still about 4 weeks away, but the PA Game Commission must be stocking already. These were on posted land 8 miles south of the game lands where they are listed to be stocked this year.

I don't think the PGC put them out.....they stock within the 2 weeks prior for the youth hunt (that's why on lands designated for the youth hunt you cannot run dogs during the 2 weeks before) and a day or 2 prior to regular season, usually the day prior though. Could be some hunters put them out for training. You can release and train dogs, but cannot shoot them. There are a couple guys by me who release birds occasionally and train on a nearby SGL.

if they put them out to early they feed the foxes and hawks. nice to some around back in the day we use to trip over them when hunting, but those days are long gone. shame
