Cabelas has a ground blind on sale this month in Hamburg--at an excellent price of $99.99; $70 off the normal price. To stop at Cabelas on the way up or down adds about 20 minutes drive time to my normal route of the Turnpike and out I-80. So--I called this morning to check inventory before I stopped on Friday--and current stock is zero The clerk in Archery transfered me to customer service. I wanted to see if I could get a rain check. She trumped my rain check--she offered (and I accepted) to ship it directly to me from the distribution center--with no charge for freight I could go on with other instances of customer accommodations from Cabelas--they truly get it! On another recent issue I complemented both the young lady I was talking to and Cabelas on how much I appreciated the fact that their people are empowered to make decisions that are outside the "rules". She told me that they are trained to do that. Cabelas wants the customer to not be transfered or put on hold--they want the person talking to the customer to take responsibility. What a concept ;D

In this day and age, it's good to hear there are still some big companies that are customer oriented.
