They started stocking pheasants in an area not far from where I hunt in 2G. Its wide open fields with some brush and treelines. I drove through it yesterday evening to see if any one had their kids and/or dogs out and I didn't see anyone at all in there. Its listed as one of the stocking areas (sgl) on the pheasant list and I saw birds there last season. I didn't see any birds walking blindly down the road yesterday, but it doesn't mean they didn't stock any.
I haven't seen any kids archery hunting yet this season either.

A lot of clubs hold youth phez hunts & many kids opt for those as they are a bit easier (put the birds out just before the kids walk out to increase their chances, better maintained cover, etc) & provide a lunch. I have lost a kid or 2 in the past for club hunts vs SGL hunts. Thats a shame though to have not seen any at all out, there were a decent amount out by us. Only know one who archery hunts.

Usually by late afternoon everyone is gone from the SGL. SGL 232 and 245 were packed for the youth hunt in the morning, lots of successful kids with big smiles. But by one o'clock it was a ghost town.
