Yes I had a dream season. Now what I call a dream season is not limits everyday or even a numbers game. I was able to hunt this year with old friends, new friends, newbies, youngsters, and some real veterans of the sport. I helped two youngsters get their first waterfowl, and a newbie get his first flying duck. A veteran commended me on my decoying skills and an old friend finally gave me credit for my shooting skills. It started with taking friends out field hunting in the early goose season. Some that never hunted that way before and seeing the excitement of getting geese that close. Then my dream hunt in Nodak, where I bagged 14 different species and 3 prime mounters, saw a mink and a badger along with many birds I had never seen. Then back to reality and W.Pa. hunting where birds are harder to find and bag. but what a year I had, I missed fewer opportunities and collected a few nice birds and added some to my Pa. list of bagged birds. I have to say that new friends and the kids made this year special, since my favorite partner was having troubles getting out, hopefully next year. It also was a stepping stone in my waterfowling life, I now have a more relaxed attitude towards just being there and less worried about the prize. My prize now is the time I get to enjoy Gods natural world. Thanks for listening to my take on our passion

zippy, great story. I never got to try hunting waterfowl. Next year, if I get a chance, would you be interested in helping me get a duck or goose? I don't know if I would really get into it, but I sure would like to try it once.

Sure thing but it is very addicting, just a warning. I tried it 6 years ago and have just about quit all other hunting. Only went after phez twice this year and have not chased deer in 3 years.

Thanks for offering to help me out. We'll set something up next season. As for becoming addicted, I don't think that would be a bad thing. As long as I get out to do some hunting, I'm happy.
