Anybody go after walleye in the rivers--I usually hit the Mon river below the locks this time of year but too much snow to get close to the water

They are my favorite species of fish here in Ontario. Great fighting fish and they taste awesome.

Tracer---You ever fish lake Nippissing? I spent a week in June/94 at the West arm cabins?? i think that was the name of the place. We( my two friends and I) fished the back bays for Northerns, caught a bunch of small ones 19 to 25 inches and one 37 incher. Never did make it to the main lake for walleye.

On the Monongahela River, fishermen have been targeting walleye and sauger with success near the Grays Landing Lock and Dam. The walleyes have been averaging around 17 inches and the saugers 12-14 inches. Most have been hitting live minnows or white or chartreuse soft plastic jigs.
A good plac to start is down for the dam where Whitely Creek enters the Mon.
