Was at camp this weekend and the woods around us looked like it was ready for X-mas! There where ribons everywhere you looked. I did see a fellow driving around the land behind us on a side by side from the gas company and asked him what all the blue and white ribon was for and he said they where for if someone gets hurt they follow the blue white ribon out to the main roads for medical help. The only thing I didn't understand was they where everywhere and not just in a nice straight marked trail. Did anyone else see this done around you? They also said after they are done blasting they will come take them all down.

I think you were lied too...........over here in Tioga county the roads in to well sites are dang near four lane hiways ........no getting lost on them.........and as far as blasting I have lived through this process since day 1and not seen any blasting done.
Unless its a siesmic team but I thought that process was done

The blue and white ribbons are just marking the trails for the siesmic crews. The gas companies do not use blue and white ribbons. Next you will see pink ribbons to mark where the wire will go for the siesmic test and orange stakes and ribbons to mark where they will drill to place the explosives for the siesmic test. The gas companies only mark driveways they are going to make and the pads they are creating to drill on. Typically they are orange ribbins and stakes sometimes pink. The pipline companies will mark the area the pipeline is going with pink ribbons as well. Most of the ribbons will be labled with the company name on it, except the blue and white ones. I would bet my house that what you are seeing is just for the siesmic testing. When they are done with the testing they do come back and pick up their ribbons and stakes. They just got done here on my property and they are cleaning up nicely.

They have the wires and probes all over the place in 2G where I hunt. So far they haven't given me any BS about hunting and hiking. I had to give up a goose hunt because these guys are running all over the place on the side by side ATVs. they have their base set up in Karthaus where the power plant was supposed to be built on the hill top.

They just started putting the road in behind our cabin for a well pad. Thank goddness they are coming from a different direction instead of right beside our driveway. Man we have well pads everywhere up there.

Wow! You just show up at the camp and the drilling crew is all over the place? Do you own the property or just leasing it? I am interested in getting a camp or buying land for a cabin, but I just hear lots of bad things about drilling in PA. Fracking can destroy the water and air quality as well as the the property value. Maybe time to think about buying land somewhere else. Really bad news.

The property they are drilling on borders ours. The bad part is we just found out about another well going in behind us also and there is a right away besise our camp. The problem is the well that is already started is owned by Chef and the other well is going to be Cheasapeak. Chef will not let the other company use there road even though the new well is 300 yards away. I cant believe you have 2 companys drilling that close together . These well companys are like ants and they do not give 2 cents about anything around them.
