First let me start with this. I am not an expert nor do I play one on the internet. I wish we had more input so we all could pick something up. Now back to my guesses and suggestions. Sure your sights could be broke or just bottomed out or you could use a taller front sight can't tell from here. So I have to ask again about the charge. Is it possible that the charge you are using is all done at the 50? Try adding 20% more charge and check all the sighns. Now if the charge is good for paper make sure it is good for game. Hate to have a ball rebound off a deer @ 100 only to put a welt on his tallow ;D Any who, If you are hitting the middle of the middle with the pumpkin on a post that means you achieved your main goal. If you have the range why not toss a few balls out to the 80 and see where you are. Or just use the center hold and see if it hits where you want. Remember there is no dot on deer so you will not be using the 6 hold anyway. You are suggesting that you are sighting with the idea of using pennslytuky windage So try that on the range before you try it on game. In the field @ 80 yards your bull will be where you think it is not where you see it and that move up the target will be your best guess at best even once you do it a few times. Come on guys lets have some input.

Thanks newguy for your help on this subject. I shoot 80grs 3-f over a 490 prb.The meaning of the 6 O'Clock hold was so your target wasn't totally obscured using the sights that now come on modern firearms and muzzle loaders and sights I mean iron sights. Looking at a deers vitals at 90 yds its totally covered by the thickness of these sights hence came the 6 o clock hold. Pros have said it should only be used on paper targets but theres hunters out there that use this hold with iron sights and are very successful. Ill just experiment more. A deers vitals are roughly 8" now put that target out at 90 yds and see what you can see bet you cant see the vitals anymore.

Not trying to be smart but are you sure the rear sight is as high as it will go? 40 "clicks" should be real high! Take a caliper and wind DOWN the rear sight and measure the height from the bottom of the barrel to the top of the sight if possible. Then crank the sight UP and you should have to open the caliper to match the height of the sight. If it don't move something is stripped I'd guess. My TC hawken has graduated lines to match up between the sight blade and the sight base. I can see the sight move when I make an adjustment. If the sights moving my guess is your flinching and pulling the barrel down away from the bullseye or raising the stock and thus pointing the barrel lower.I don't think 20% more powder will make the ball go that much higher but try it. If you figger it out I'd sight in at 80yd and shoot at 50 to see where you're at. Hope this helps.
