I have this old rifle and can't figure out what caliber it is. It looks like a mossin nagant m44 that I have but the 7.62 x 54 cartridge does not fit. The bolt doesn't close. The only stamping I can find on it are 1934r and a hammer and sickle on the barrel. I was thinking about making this my next project after the Winchester( which is getting to be more of a project than I though it would be. I hope I can get it all back together). I can't post pics of it as I don't have a computer( broken) and am using my iPhone. Any ideas would be great.
