25-06. I've used it for many PA and Alabama whitetails in the last 40 years as well as a couple of Montana mulies and also two pronghorn. I also use it for varmints. Relatively mild recoil, the rifle can shoot more accurately than I am capable of, and devastating wound channels.

I always loved my 308 M77 and still do but that is now retired untill the boys take it over in the near future. My new cal. is my 35 Rem. contender that was a super 14 now a 16 with a thumb hole stock and just a sweet little carbine.

.308.I like it because there's alot of different components that work well in it.It's easy to reload for and it drops deer with authority

8mm Mauser!! My grandfather had a 8mm German Mauser that was sporterized for hunting. Was his only deer rifle. Handed it down to me before he passed. Even though I have a safe full of other rifles that will do its the only thing I carry when I rifle hunt for deer....very similar ballistics to 30-06.

Too hard to choose, load 16 different chamberings right now including 5 wildcats. Seem to have the most faith in The Black b*tch for deer: Remington 700, MT, synthetic stock, Leupold 3-9, loaded with 140 gr Barnes TSX. 19 one shot kills makes it my go-to rig.
