Cabelas also sells breech plugs. However,it wouldn't surprise me if CVA would send you a new one for free along with a wrench.I'm not sure how the CVA's screw in.My T/C omega takes a special cheesy wrench that looks like a spark pluf wrench for small engines.I also have a RMC accusporter which I lost the wrench for.I just use a crescent wrench to unscrew it.
Depending on what he shot out of it and how long it's been since it was cleaned,it may be tough to get out.You may have to put a small pipe on the wrench.Just make sure you lube it up every time you take it out and clean it every time. Also, try some Blackhorn 209 powder. That's by far the best powder I've ever used in an in-line.You can shoot all day, never have to clean between shots and the breech plug will screw right out.

Did the lug come off the breech plug itself? If that's the case, you may have to use a big easy out.

yeah the lug is completely gone. i was thinking a big easy out but i dont want to do more damage. i have no doubt that i can fix it but figured ide get some other thoughts before i go shade tree gunsmith. i do most of my own work on my guns so i can make emergancy repairs if need be. my only delema is are the threads right or are they reverse threaded. im going to email cva to ask.

i am in the process of trying to find a lefthanded flintlock that i like so it is just a tempory gun but i dont want to pass it on to someone else if it isnt safe to use. i went on the cva website and it appears that they are out of the flintlock business. i cant seem to find any parts online.

I know that T/C won't sell a breechplug for a "Flinter". Too many people got a plug in their face r/r-ing them, I was told by T/C.
