seen only 21 entered at 6pm.....my 2 buddies got 2 each....the other friend i hunt with some didnt turn in any...he got 3 last year they hunt over a special mixture of bait....lol...i dont partake in that baiting either....we should have had both the 1 at moraine my nephew who i thought was paying attention while i was calling was texting his girlfriend.....then over in washington county we had one coming off a hill at 4 am....and the houndsman came fling up the road...there hounds were behind another one that broke from the pack....they turned it....and we heard the hounds over the ridge and they jumped out and missed it....as it ran over the ridge and they came fling back apast us....
i complain about them also but at least you gotta hussle...and im changing my mind being around hounds all my life...making a good hound takes lots of work...breaking them...is a lot of running and some sore knuckles...sometimes ya get lucky and get that natural who is strait....but you can never tell down the road what they will hit....theres no possible way to keep up without vehicles and tracking collars not like a rabbit thats gonna circle or a coon thats gonna tree....those things leave the country...and can imagin how far from the beatin path they can bayup at night...in the woods with a light everything looks like its in your face....then you got cleaning and upkeep of the hounds...lots of time...
have had many a good rabbit chases that went out of hearing distance for 20 minutes or longer....and some only came part way back so we would move up while they were over the hill...
i would say the weather played a roll...in the low entries...it could be the cold...lol...shouldnt bother those young boys though...
