I don't invest much thought in scent blocking clothing - I think its just another money making gimmick.
I do, however; use the cover sent sprays and sent wafers from HS and have been quite impressed with thier performance.
I have had deer within 5 yds of me and they never knew I was there. To me movement and paying attention to the wind is the key to successful deer hunting.

I'm anal about secent control and here's my opinion about scent lock. From my experience the outerware is a scam because I like to wash my pants and coats fairly often and that decreases the effectiveness of scent lock.I also can't see spending several hundered dollars on a set to only have to replace it every couple years.Scent lock works well if you take all the other scent control precautions.the only thing is,I get about two seasons out of a set before it's effectiveness diminished. Therefore,I buy the original liners systems.there is no question in my mind that a fesh liner works wonders.I still watch the wind but I can never remeber sitting in a tree once in my life when the wind didn't swirl at least occassionally.

I read an article about scent loc clothing, written by a scientist,he stated that you are wasting your money if you buy the stuff! The charcoal, that is inpregnated into the garments Can't be reactivated,To be able to reactivate it, you would burn it to a crisp! Just throwing it into a drier won't heat it near enough to reactivate the charcoal, I will try to find this article again, and post it in it's entireity. If this article is true, and I believe it is, I wasted some money also!

I do not use scent-loc or blocker clothing but I am always washing my colthes in scent eliminators and use the fresh earth scent sprays and waffers.

no matter what you do when you get to the stand and sweat is pouring off you nothing will help. a recent test found that the clothing line works some when you can take your time and keep from sweating. the same goes for the sprays. this adds up to even if it works a little, a little is better than nothing at all.

I made a bet one time that sent-lock dose work. I sprayed some calone on my shirt and pants and sat on the edge of a field with a buddy and a video cammra where we knew deer where coming out, it was in july and we had deer with in 10 yards of us and they never smelled us. Needless to say everyone in our camp now wears it. Also had my suit for 5 years now and it still works. Great stuff in my opinion.

Get a scent smoker. It's a small unit that looks almost like a water picher. You put hardwood chips in it and let them smolder to create a thick smoke. Then you smoke all of your cloths and equiptment.I heard about this on a couple other forums and thought it was a scam.It goes against conventional wisdom but I had to give it a try.Apparently deer are not afraid of the smell of smoke and it also acts as a anti-microbial.In any event, since I've been using it the last two weeks,I haven't been busted at all.Up until I used it,every single deer has looked up and busted me.Even the two that I killed, were both looking at me when I shot.
Saturday afternoon was one of those days that you're better off just staying home. The wind was terrible and it constantly changed directions, much of the time going strait to the ground.I went out all smoked up and had a small spike come by me at 5 yards. The wind was blowing strait to him and he never knew I was there.About 5 minutes later, two mature doe and a bb walked toward me and fed all around me for over 35 minutes.the thermals were blowing strait down most of the time but they never looked up at me and eventually just wanderes off unaware of my presence.I haven't used this enough to be 100% convinced that it works as good as it appears to but the early results are pretty promising. There's several good links on this product if you just google scent smoker.I never would have believed it but I think this thing is the ticket.

Just saw an article where hunters in Minnesota have started a class action suit against I believe it was scent blocker, saying it was useless and meant to defraud the users

i was 10 yards away from my buck this year,i dont use scentlock he never knew i was there, til that arrow hit em.. ;D last year i was on the ground had 2 bucks walk within3- 5 yards of me if anyone rembers that story,no scentlock suits here... ive been hunting for 25 years and never used it ,my wall speaks for myself... if it works for you or you think it works for you by all means use it,but i hate when people tell me im wrong for not using it..

I have never use it and i have deer walk 3 feet in front of me while sitting on the ground. I never shot a deer that was further then 25 yards away either. I personally dont beleive in it but they make it surely sound good to have
