This kind of thing has been going on for years under a permit. There are some situations where hunting is not the answer. The meat is always tested and give to food banks. This activity is not allowed unless the birds are utilized. As much as we don't like it, the parks dept has a right to provide a place where people can recreate without being up to their ankles in goose dropings. One thing tat is required before this kind of activity is allowed is that the park have a no feeding policy and enforce it. If they follow up with an egg addling program and a no feeding policy they should be able to keep thegoose numbers under control.

correction it was 250-300 geese they gased..
