if you are not interested in the fur the 25-06 is great, gives you more range and less wind drift with the heavier bullet, the downside more noise and recoil, and it is also a great deer cartridge here in pa.

Sako or Tikka 22-250 is the recommended rifle for coyotes in my area and 12gauge 00buck ,000buck, #4, for close range.

i always used my Marlin 22mag while hunting whistle pigs and most were taken ranging from 75-100 yards away. if i were to hunt fox or coyotes or fox i would use the one caliber that most people overlook - the 22 Hornet - it is fast, flat and packs more of a wallop then most would think it would when it hits its target. IMHO - it would be a great caliber for hunting yotes

I use a Winchester Model 70, 22-250 and a Savage 222 which are both nice long range guns good for Punxy Phil types and I suppose yotes and about any other varmit. I know from experience you can reach out a good ways with both of these calibers.

Keep in mind certain areas are of limits to center fire rifles so in that case a 22 mag will due but as far as center fire goes ther are alot of good ones, a 223 inexpensive to shoot, 204, 22-250, 220 swift, 222 all great for pesky critters and predators then get into the dual purpose like the 243 excellent choice, 6mm, 25-06 then you start really getting into heavy pelt damage! Heck try'em all!

I love my Rem.760 .222 Gamemaster. I sometimes use Rem. 700. 22-250 if we are running the hounds

I just bought a Ruger M77 MARK II target/varmit in 243 with heavy brl, laminated stock in target gray topped by a 6-20x44 and have'nt had the chance to shoot it yet! Can't wait to break it in on chuck's. Great practice for when it's time for coyote or deer!

MMMmmmm....now this is a tough call to say the least.. I'd choose the .243 !! I don't even own one but I do own a 25/06.. Why, better quality bullet are avaiable for long range banging.. I'd use the 22/250 out to 400 yards and then would need some BC out the wazzoooo.. the 105-115 6mm bullet are like needles and lots of companies are making high quality benchrest versions and I mean high high quality...no one really makes .257 cal bullets anywhere near the quality needed. Look at the1000, 600 and long range groundhog matches, see how many 25's are listed..very few, the reason, too much bang, recoil and expense and quality of the bullets... now, if your want a deer/varmint rifle, 25/06 all the way over the ..24... but for long range banging and I mean 400-750, the /long needles will git'er'dun!

after todays ground hog hunt....the 22-250 all the way I had 2 shots at over 400 yds (with a laser range finder) the first one was a neck shot and the second was a head shot .......I was impressed
