How many groundhog (pasture grizzlys is what I call them) hunters are on here. Down here in Lancaster Co. I have seen a few the last couple days because of the warmer weather. I am about ready to cut lose on a few.

I've always called them "whistle pigs" or "ground grizzlies"
I've seen a few myself, in fact mom might have the first kill of the season already, she wacked on with a shovel during that warm spell we had a few weeks ago

Well went out last night to a farm near my house and got the first ground critter of the season. Let me tell ya I was useing the Barns varmit garnades out of my 223 and I never saw anything like it. I squezzed the trigger and it was gone I mean litterly vaporized. Found a leg here and there but that was it.( 36gr barns varmit garnades in 223)

PASTURE PORKERS in the mountains of south central PA... I've killed a few hundred over the years and it was the reason that the various groundhog benchrest matches are being held throughout the state...I still enjoy a super long range hunt, but enjoy shooting paper hogs these days... APRIL 5th is opening day for the first "HOG" match of the year !! YOU'LL love em'

Got six this weekend! I got 3 and my one buddy got 2 and the other 1. We had a blast. It was like that game when they pop up out of the holes you slam them with a hammer. The farm we hunt is polluted with them. He grows cellery and radishes and all kinds of veggeis and they just can't resist.

I got 2 with the 22-250 on saturday evening, missed one earlier in the day with my bow, little bugger ducked just as I triggered the release.
