I'm kinda the exception here...I have a Marlin 336 RC in .35 Remington that I would shoot over most anything. I hunt the eastern and northern woods, though. Rarely open country. At 100 yards, I am as accurate with that levergun as I am with any of the bolt actions I have shot. The balance and feel just suit me right.

For MOST deer hunting in the state of PA, any of these will do. Hunt with whatever feels the best. The bolt is the strongest, though, enhancing accuracy, and allowing higher power loads, like the overkill 300 win mag.

My go to gun is a bolt action,but I still have my ole Marlin in 30 30 for the swamps and thick cover
