This is the year of the 13 year Cicada. But don't tell nobody. I hit this spectacle twice in my life, and the fishing was nothing short of phenominal. Big browns that never show themselves during the daylight hours will move dozens of yards to feed on this morsel during the midday hours. I've hit it on the Loyalsock and on Fishing Creek. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it hits far enough north this year to see some action on the Pine and the Kettle. If your fly shop carries this pattern, better stock up now. Once things get going, the shops sell out fast.

That was the 17 year locust and it was in 2006. This one is a little different.

Not sure where Chicora is, but FlyFishers Paradise and TCO Outfitters are selling them. If you can't find them, give me a yell. I'll be starting in on them in 2-3 weeks or so.

I think FFP is getting $2.50 each. Pretty salty if you ask me. Not sure about TCO. If you can get them tied privately, I know darned well that you could get them cheaper.

Leverlover - If you are tying these for people please let me know. I could probably tie these myself but would pay for them if you feel like tying a few extra.
