Have to agree on the savage 110 and add the stevens 200 as a even better choice for gun for your money , not real pretty but most all are accurate and dependable right out of the box.

I never owned a Savage due to prior unfounded predudices but I don't doubt they're excellent guns for the money.I used to go through rifles like water and the best value for the money I've ever personally experienced is Tikka.I've owned several and they were all excellent shooters with excellent triggers right out of the box.
Last fall I bought two Kimber Montanna's and they're by far the best rifles I've ever owned. Not necessarily the best bang for the money but they're the finest production rifles I've ever had.

I tend to agree buck!! I bot a Savage 110 243 & "out of the box" the most accurate rifle ive ever owned!!! A story that is commonly sited by Savage owners. Not the purdiest rifle but one hell of a reliable/accurate shooter!!! And yes, ole Loggy has owned a few others in comparison!!! ;D

A-men to the 110! As I've posted before my 110E(economy) has treated me better than I have done by it. Stuck cartridges(doesn't like neck sized rounds), broken trigger guard(shooting off a 50 gallon barrel as a teenager). Yet thru it all that skinny 20" barrel shoots moa very easily. A sweet light weight 30:06. For a $90 dollar gun(circa 1972), it is priceless to me.
