I recently talked to a gentleman from one of the local camps. This particular camp has been in existence since the early 1930's and at 1 point boasted over 30 members. Its one of those deals where you buy in and if you decide to leave they buy back your share.Well over the last 2 years their membership has dwindled to 5 members, and his reason for this visit was to list the camp with a realtor. It seems the last 5 have no desire to return to the Northern Tier to hunt deer any more. As he said "we aint seen a deer all year". Sad epitaph to a once thriving camp

And the shame of it all , it is happening all around the area here in north central pa. the weekend before Buck season use to have a almost co. fair like atmosphere , but now in my area there are more camps that dont even open up than do.and i believe we can thank the pgc deer management plan for this.

I'm pretty sure rs moved to this area for the same reasons I did,for the hunting and fishing opportunities.Since HR and AR the deer hunting is poor to say the least. These individuals that say HR is still needed need to come up to Tioga county and take a walk through all these beautiful regenerating forests and look for deer. If you're lucky you might actually see ONE
