I have been thinking of trying a carter evolution+ back tension release to help up my average of 565 (bowhunter class) in a 600 round I’m shooting in. I shot a buddies a few times and it felt good. It will take some getting used to though. Have any of you guys used the evolution+ and did it help

Went to one last indoor season. Went from 429/450 league average in 2007 to 446/450 in 2008.
It is truly a back tension release and it will require some adjustment when you get it. First and foremost- make sure you are shooting with a loop. Start with the standard spring that comes in the unit. Crank the tension adjustment all the way clockwise (stiffest setting). Make sure you are close to you target. Once you get to your anchor point, release the safety. From here, it's going to take some instruction from someone right there that knows how to shoot a back tension. If it fires right a way, go to a stiffer spring. If not, and it seems like it won't go off, start lessening the tension screw counterclock wise in half turn increments.
I shot the release all indoor season. I tried to use it outdoors in 3D leagues, but found that the uphill and downhill shots really mess with you by firing too soon or never, depending on body position. I went to a Carter Chocolate Light- got so good with that that I hunted with it this past year.
