Well heres the story went to camp over the weekend and my dad was shooting my grandpas, dads rem m722 in 222 so we shot 10 rounds out of it and my dad handed me the gun and said take care of this i about hit the ground it was the only gun that was not burned in my grandpas house 25 years ago he told me that his dad used it for deer he would crack them in the head with it so is it worth anything (not for sale) i know its older then me iam 38. thanks GRD

YES, it's worth some serious cash to the right people at the right time...not too many of the .222's around, most of them were in big game calibers and not those little pip squeeks...take it to the Pitts. gun collectors show and see what someone will offer you for it...I'd saw it would be above $500, more than likely 5 times what it was new...but it means more to you than the cash anyway...fine rifle...clean it up and use it...

THANKS FOR THE INFO FRANK ITS WORTH MORE THEN 500 TO ME LIKE YOU SAID ITS THAT MY GRANDPA USED IT AND HIS DAD USED IT I WISH I KNEW WHEN IT WAS MADE.

There's is a code on the barrel that will give the year of manufacturing...

My one local dealer has one on the shelf right now for Under $400 I think. It's either a .222 or .222mag.

If it's pretty good shape for $400..pick it up, you can't loose in the run...what caliber is it in

Well took it to a guy that my local deal told me about he looked it over and said it was worth around $575 to $625 because of the caliber and was about 80% cond for how old it was would it be worth to do the stock over or just leave it only.

DON'T TOUCH ONE THING...always the best choice...was it a .222 or a .222 mag, they made both but they are rare indeed..the other rare ones are the .244, .257 roberts, 300 savage...I think they may have offered a 7X57, but not sure...lots of the run of the mill 30/06's /270's but it's the odd balls that bring the cash..
