THE TWINS...there hain't beans worth of difference between the two... 7mm/08 and the .280 Remington...TWO of the finest big game cartridges ever designed in my opinion. The only real difference is what length of action can be used with either.. THE hunters who use these two are passionate about them...they have made a splash and aren't going anywhere soon...I see Remington is offering both in their 7600 again, special order..they don't seem to last long until their all gone again... My wife uses the /08...the perfect ladies and kids gun, the recoil is more than tolerable for both and the knock down power far outshins the .24's... OK men, have at it.......

Ok, this 7mm/08 love fest is nice and all BUT... I'd like to hear "measurements". What weight bullets you like to use. If you reload, what load data. What other calibers is recoil comparable to. Boy I thought us 06 people were bad!LOL ;D

I shoot 139 grain Hornady SST light mags. Recoil is less then a .270 and very bit as or even more accurate then it!

Seriously, I'm guessing the 7mm/08 is easy to reload for? What powders work best? What velocities do you find give you the best accuracy with the 139grain bullet?

Never had a .280 but always wanted one. I did have a 7mm-08 pump and wasn't wild about it. I like long action cartridges.
