I'm looking for a varmit gun and don't want to spend big bucks for one just to throw around. Did anyone ever shoot or have a NEF 204 or 223 and how did or do you like it? I have heard alot of great things about them and for 200-250 dollars sounds pretty good. They say they will shoot 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups at 1 and 2 hundred yards.Lets hear!! Thanks

You may also want to consider the stevens 200 for a economy priced bolt action varmit gun , i have one in 223 and it shoots sub moa groups consistently right out of the box. you might check shydas in the lebanon area , they usually have pretty good prices.

i use my 30.06 formost everything, i just use accelerator bullets for varmit. 55gr bullet with all that power, shoots long and straight, and extremely fast.

Are they factory only or can you reload for them?

Nothing wrong with the gun or the cartridge...just as long as you understand it's limits and capabilities..the .223 is a fine medium range cartridge..it's more than capable of smashing hogs at 250+, but it's not a 500 yard killer by anymeans..you'll hit em but they'll run in the hole and die a agonizing death...the .204 has about the same capabilities...just keep em' under 300 and you'll be fine..if your coyote hunting take a little off that 300..they are big enough to take a thump at low velocity and run away with very little blood trail...I've seen a few shoot off the bench and they will shoot more than good enough to shoot 3/4 groups...you might thing about the 22/250...it'll give ya another 75-100 yards of thump and you could handload it to give yourself even a little more..either way, know the limits...you may want to look at the .243, it you want to go past 500 yards...

Hope I'm not pulling a "Loggy" But Graybeard Outdoors forums has a very informative area for NEF owners. Their FAQ section is great for new owners.
