I think your ok here onager I have been reading things on the net. about these guns and many others for about 2 weeks now and I see alot of the pros and cons. To be truthful the only real con I have read was that some H&Rs were not ejecting the shell properly I guess I will find out now for my self. besides there ain't to much that can go wrong with a single shot gun

the 22/250 is a great round. always loved shooting that round. it's even better if you reload. but still lots of good factory loads. this round will make shooting 300 yrds a snap.

I'm thinking about getting a new barrel for my NEF single shot. Torn between a .204 and 22/250. Like the idea of keeping the sight picture. But until I figure out why my .243 loads give me an occasional flyer. I prob. shouldn't jump in to ANOTHER reloading project.

Finally got my varmit gun yesterday ;D. I will get some pics up asap. Man what a sweet little gun for the money I just can't wait to shoot it . It is a 223 H&R ultra varmit with skeloton stock, fluted bull barrol 24" 1&9 twist, and I stuck a 6.5x20x40 simons scope on it.

Thanks skwirl that is the gun I just bought (ultra varmit 223)! I shot it for the first time this weekend and let me tell ya I was very impressed. My last 5 shots at 100 yards I had only 3 holes! Love the gun and would recomend it to anyone. Can't beat it for $349.
