When I was very young (mid 1950's) , my Dad knew some real old timers, beards down to their waists, two still hunted with old percussion muskets. I remember one complaining about not being able to find black powder locally, (Local to a guy who never learned to drive and walked everywhere) so he made "sugar powder" to use in his old musket.
I recently came upon a recipe. Has anyone ever tried it?

I really don't think posting the recipe would be a good idea. I'm no legal eagle but I'm pretty sure there could be some legal ramifications if the experiment took a turn for the worst

I had heard about "sugar powder" several times over the years. Recipe was in an issue of Backwoodsman mag a couple months back. How's that!
