was out picking up a new scope for my t/c . wanted some good ones so i asked for the best they had. he picked out steel camo mounts. after looking them over decided on some different ones . the steel mounts would have added at least a pound to the gun. so i went with the aluminum mounts to save weight. which do you think are better .

i found the aluminum ones are easily stripped when slightly over tightened

I'd go steel.

I use all leopold mounts (aluminum) and never had problems. I like them because they are wider and grip the scope more.

use the leupold mounts on the high power. but the t/c has weaver base and weaver rings. the steel mounts were nice but man were they heavy

Have always favored "one piece bases" if your receiver will allow you to use one - and ya can't beat - LEUPOLD

All my rifles have Leupold scopes and Leupold one piece mounts. Never had a problem.
