I bought the Bushnell yardage pro scout yrsw ago. No problems yet. They do eat some batteries I replace the batteries every year. Ive been caught with a dead battery or 2 out there. Their great to have though Im a bad guesser at yardage.

Have had a Bushnell "800 yarder" for several years, still works fine for me.
Many of the areas I hunt 'chucks in around Potter/Tioga, were long ago ranged, with either a buddy's Barr & Stroud optical, or another guy's Bushnell 1000. Out to 500 yards or so, mine reads pretty much what theirs' did. I seldom shoot farther than that, so all is well.
When I got it, ranged a couple of the "landmarks" across the valley from my camp where we had previously killed deer. Got exactly the same distance as my buddy had ranged with his Bushnell 1000. There's a silvery old stump not far from where I dropped a deer with the 25-06 at 425 yards about 8 years ago. My 800 reads the same as his did on that stump, from the same spot in the dooryard the shot was taken from.

Don't know if my Bushnell yardage pro 800 floats or not, but it's been dropped a few times and tumbled out of the truck at least once..and still works fine. If I plan to use it while 'chuck hunting, I always "range" it on a few known targets to be sure it's still on the mark.
It also takes two AA batteries, which I like. Have heard that some of the more expensive range finders take different batteries and I like having only one type of battery to stock up on for everything.
The Bushnell also seems fairly good on battery life, too.
