Won a rifle at a gun bash. Was,nt there so a bud picked me up a gift certificate. Could someone lead me in the right direction for some websites into these 2 calibers.

the 243 is a good light weight round. that will drop deer just as quick as any round . but the 270 is more versatile and can be used for larger game. if looking for a pa deer rifle the 243 is a good choice. if you plan on going out of state to hunt other game the 270 is a good choice.

I would go with the 270 more of an all around gun.

I have gotten many buck and doe with my 243, it's not so much the "bigger gun gets the job done" as it is "shot placement!"

I have both calibers - So i guess I have the best of both worlds!! - i would lean towards the .270 - You can take it out West...
