Haven't hunted hogs in years, but I've been thinking about it, maybe I'll break out my Rem 591, 5MM Mag,or my 223Cal. Contender.

I've only drilled a few with the single shot 223 or a 22 rimfire thus far while at the cabin. Never did like to kill too many in the spring.
Used to kill at least a hundred each summer in Potter and Tioga counties from the early 70s on, but got away from it after my huntin' bud died almost 7 years ago.
Back then we'd spend several long weekends driving around choice spots, shooting dozens or more per day. Some of those places are no longer available though, since houses have been built where none once existed. Took a ride down one series of gravel roads in Potter over Memorial Day weekend and was amazed at how many of our old favorite places, are now off limits.
Was nothing for us to put 100 miles on the truck per day back then. With the cost of gas, doubt I'll be doing that anymore.
The hay should be off most of my favorite fields towards the end of June, so will have to head up and see how things go. Years ago we didn't go up until after July 4th, but these days many of the farmers are cutting or chopping earlier, so June might work?
Have a 22-06 that a friend built for me and still hasn't gotten a proper field test yet, so want to wring that one out this summer, along with the old standby 22-250 and 223.
