I've been shooting BARNES X-BULLETS since the original copper fouling babies were introduced many moons ago.. the are great hunting bullets. They penetrate straight on through deer in every caliber that I've shot them with, including the little 50 grain .224 versions.. They've never been benchrest quality but that's not needed in the hunting world anyway.. your shooting at a backetball sized kill area !! The XLC's took care of most of the copper problem and the new TSX's took care of just a little more of it.. I watched a guy shooting all 4 different types of X-bullets out of a .300 win mag at distance from 100 to 500 yards.. he was checked the differences between all of them for drop, group size and overall accuracy... The clear winner was the T-TSX's..the new tip also cut the wind much better and resulted in a much much flatter trajectory..almost a foot a 500 yards compared to the originals.. go figure that one out... the points of impact were also similiar but different enough to miss a whitetail.. so if your mixing and matching, get to the range.. I look for all the bands on lead these days to cause bullet manufactureres to be lead free in the future..BARNES has increased the quality of there's to a much better level.. it's the only bullet I've never recovered from any animal..all pass thru's !!
