yes I was not around in the 50's. Hey to me you have your oppinions and I have mine. If it was decided to get rid of compounds then I would hunt with the long bow, If it is past you can hunt with a crossbow so be it I'm not going to look down on any hunter or his choices. Its not that I am afraid of the crossbow hunter at all it is just my oppinion that they are not needed as is yours they are. Heak if it passes great I would not have a problem hunting with ya it just may even be fun.

For those of you that would like to see the x-bow legal in archery...
My question is would you have a problem with in-lines in late muzzleloader....to me this is one in the same...
I feel that if the x-bow gets passed for archery (let me make it known I care less one way or another) this will open the debate for those who want to hunt with in-line in late season muzzleloader ...you want to talk about the crap hitting the fan..and all the inliners will have to say is what every x-bower is to get into the archery season...
just my thoughts I may be wrong, and hope i am

Yes boxie30 you are correct! When will it stop? In another few years they will have a semi auto bow of some sort out then they will what that legalized also. Don't get me wrong I am not against any one hunter for what he choices to hunt with but when is enough enough?

rs That is the freaken problem here! You need to look at the big picture the efects this will bring and the doors it will open. They will be pushing for inlines doring flintlock, Heak why not rifles in sping gobbler or automatics in rifle. You see it will never stop that is the point. You can call me anti or what ever you want but sit back and think alittle about everything and I think maybe you could even comprehend the hole that is being dug. Its not trying to keep any one person from doing what they wish it is about protecting our sport from non existance. If you need to use your crossbow go get a permit and use it no big deal!

Have had a lifetime permit to use a crossbow for years , this is about what is fair for all , not just the elitest that feels his weapon is the only one. It is time to share the greatest time of the year to be in the woods with those that enjoy hunting with a crossbow.

what is the problem with what a guy hunts with as long as he hunts. years ago the long hunters put up a fight when compounds came along and flintlocks put a fight when inlines came along. i don't see the problem. but i know others will say give them there own season will the season is only so long. somewhere they are going to over lap no matter what you do. taking sides on this issuse is the same as saying we should outlaw a certain gun yet allow people to keep others. if your into gun control

RS...Don't take my earlier post as a scare tactic...It was not meant in that reason..I for one would not like to see that happen and I've only started flintlock hunting the past few years...
BUT...as I said "JUST MY THOUGHTS" I wanted to know everyones thought especially those pushing for the legalizing of x-bows in archery if it would open doors for the in-liners for late season (once again I'd be against this)..
As for x-bows in archery like I said before "I don't care one way or another"....I've seen in-line get a week in archery and youths, seniors get 3 days rifle during archery and don't have a problem....
The problem I see in my eyes(note i said my eyes not anyone else's) is if we continue to introduce different weapons during every season soon everyones going to want a chance to use their preferred weapon during the season they want.......
so 6 wks archery; 2 wks rifle; and 2 wks late season..you may see a 10 week season with the hunters option on the weapon of choice..I know this won't happen but it is a thought none the less that could happen..
Just so I'm clear where I stand...When archery season opens in October you can bet that I'll be somewhere in the woods looking to harvest a white tailed deer with my compound bow...and will care less what the hunter in the next wood lot is using for a weapon.....
I do often worry about the decisions of today and the impact they'll have in the future, and this is one I think could open a few doors for other opportunist .....Once again JUST MY THOUGHTS not the truth, not fact, just MY OPINION and nothing else...
