I am thinking about storing my hunting clothing in a cedar chest. Are there any negatives to doing this? I do wash my outfits before going on hunting trips but I want to make sure this is not a big no no for storing my hunting clothing.

some people say only use the scents that are native to your area. pine, apple, oak, etc. but anything that covers your scent should help

Thanks Mrlongbeard. May main concern is my clothing smelling like mold, but your right at least it will smell like something in the woods.

Just be careful where you store them - I have one of those closets that the hunting cloths magically shrink from one year to the next!! They fit last year but this year they are alittle snug - ha ha

ScentLok ScenTote! I got one of the scentlok scentotes to store my gear. When the season is over I wash them with the HS detergent, air dry, put them in a coleman vac bag with a HS earth scent wafer then into the scentlok carbon scentote . During the season I keep my gear loosley in the tote with HS earth scent wafers while not in use. I recomend it, its a lil pricey, but its roomy and sturdy, been using it for three years now.

i use a rubbermaid tote myself. i put the tote on the top shelf high above the kids and the dogs. two days prior to hunting i take everything out spray it down with sent away and hang it outside on the porch. i spray everything down once more the night before i hunt. it seems to work for sent elimination, i hunt from the ground and have had deer come so close i could touch them and not know i was there till they were right next to me.
