Just wondering if anyone has the Remington 710 .243 and how they like it. Im not looking to spend to much money and it will only be used for deer season. I probably only shoot it the friday before buck season every year. Let me know if you got anything on it.

every BB I frequent has a post abut the 710. Ther are a few that have them and like them. Quite frankly, they are JUNK. The barrel is pressed in and if it ever works loose you will throw the gun away. They've had all sorts of mechanical problems including feeding due to clip misfttings, and Remington even has had a recal on them. For the same price or maybe even a bit less, look at the Stevens 200( I think that's the model number). Regardless of what brand you buy, don't get a package set up as usually they put the cheapest scope on it money can buy, and sooner or later most of them will fail.

THE 710 is more than capable of killing any whitetail in the state.. however, it is true that the barrel system is poor and the rest of it may not be all that much better... however, for the average deer hunter, it is more than capable of killing..heck, your shooting at a basketball sized target... you could spend less money and get more to be honest about it... I wonder if it's still being produced by the new owners and operators of :BIG GREEN"
