If anyone is interested in attending a Physically challenged hunt in upstate NY in late September PM me and I SHOULD be able to get you an application. The past years this hunt has typically been held the 3rd or last weekend in September. This hunt is not advertised anywhere and typically you need to know someone to get an application but I'm extending this offer to my friends here.
Now please understand that this hunt is for truly Physically Challenged hunters only and is limited to shooting compounds, re-curves and or long bows, cross-bows not allowed. Sorry I don't make the rules.
I've helped as guide, hunters assistant and bow technician the past three years and the times we've had have been unbelievable.
The hunt is held on a 1500 acre preserve just South of lake Ontario and East of Syracuse NY. Game hunted is Whitetail (no limit), Russian Boar for 4 lucky hunters picked from the group and 1 Cow Elk and 1 - 4 pt. (Western count) Bull Elk for the group.
The hunt is held Friday PM, Saturday and Sunday morning. Accommodations are as good as you'll find in a hunting camp anywhere. Heated bunk houses with lights, single beds with regular mattresses. sleeping bags provided. Hot shower, 3 heated bathrooms with hot & cold running water and heated eating cabin. All meals are prepared by a 5 star chef and if you go away hungry it's your own darn fault.
The camp has been built over the years solely for this annual hunt so all facilities are wheel chair accessible.
The preserves crew provides transportation to and from the ground blinds for all hunters and their assistants. Tracking and recovery is done by the preserves crew and game processing is done in an on sight butcher shop to your specifications and ready for you when you leave.
Now here's the real kicker, you sitting down ? Cost.....absolutely FREE !!!! All it will cost is transportation to and from the preserve, no license required and everything else is taken care of.
Even if you never take a shot I guarantee you'll leave having had the time of your life and you'll probably have seen some of the largest Bull Elk you'll ever lay your eyes on in your life time. Last year the one night we had a HUGE non typical 7x8 Bull practically blowing snot in our blind on myself and my hunter.....
Below are 2 pictures from last years hunts. As I mentioned, if interested drop me a PM ASAP as openings are limited and I know spots will fill quickly. People who find out about this hunt apply and come from all over the country. If you know someone whom might be interested in what most end up calling "the trip of their lifetime" have them get in touch with me.
