THIS YEAR AS WE PREPARE FOR THE HUNT PLEASE REMEMBER THOSE THAT HAVE DISIBILITIES AND OFFER SOMEONE A TRIP BACK TO THE WOODS. TAKE SOMEONE WHO CANNOT WALK TO FAR OR LACKS THE STRENGHT TO FIELD DRESS AND DRAG HIS TROPHY OUT OF THE WOODS. HELP THEM AND SHARE A DAY THAT THEY NO LONGER CAN ON THEIR OWN. I HAVE TALKED TO MY OLDER FRIENDS IN MI. AND THEY NO LONGER HUNT BECAUSE NOBODY WANTS TO TAKE THE TIME OR HAVE THE PATIENCE TO TAKE THEM OUT. WHERE YOU CAN WALK TO SPECIAL PLACE IN LET'S SAY 20 MINUTES IT MIGHT TAKE THEM 45 MIN. TO HOUR TO WALK. PUT OUT YOUR HAND AND HELP. I AM WRITING THIS BECAUSE I WAS TOLD LAST FRIDAY THAT I HAVE A CHEST WALL TUMOR INFILTRATING THE UPPER RIBS. MY TIME IN THE WOODS WILL BE VERY LIMITED THIS YEAR. TAKE A KID,AN OLD MAN,A FRIENDWITH DIFFICULTIES OUT WITH YOU AND ENJOY A DAY OR AN AFTERNOON WITH THEM. GIVE THEM SOME NEW MEMORIES TO ENJOY. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPS AND MAY YOUR HUNT BE TROPHIES TO ALL. JOHNW

Sorry to hear about your health John, hope you can get out and bag one this year. If you were closer I'd take you to some good spots with easy access. I have done both, hunted with those who cannot drag a deer let alone walk far & with a lot of kids (5 different ones so far this year). I agree, always a great thing to share a hunt with those either with health issues, and/or up and coming hunters. I know I always have a blast with the kids!!

THANKS FOR WHAT YOU AND OTHERS DO FOR THE HANDICAPED AND YOUTH OF TODAY.

Jeffpa & NE OWL do special handicapped hunts, they both give a lot of their time to this. NE OWL runs Wheelinsports, an organization devoted to handicapped hunters. Maybe Jeffpa can post up the info on the organization he helps every year as I don;t know the name, they do a yearly archery hunt in NY. (see post in forum, 2008 physically challenged hunt) Kudos to both of them for their great work!!!

As soon as I can find time I'll post up some pictures and stories from the Physically Challenged hunt held 10/10, 11 & 12 that I helped at. A great time was had by all with 2 Russian Razorback pig's killed, 5 Whitetail Doe & 1 cow Elk. Our member fishnhuntr killed a nice Doe on this hunt. In the mean time a close friend of mine from upstate NY has started an organization that aids Physically Challenged folks in getting back into the outdoors activities such as hunting and fishing. This non profit organization aids with locating special needs equipment and helps find personal assistants if needed. Their web site is www.nyoutdoorsunlimited.com This organization will assist folks regardless of what State they reside in. If you contact them tell George I sent you and he'll take great care in assisting you...he's like that...not just because I sent you... .... I also know some of the board members on the PCBA, Physically Challenged Bowhunters of America and this organization does a lot of hunts using both Bows & Guns throughout North America. www.pcba-inc.org/They have one annually for Pronghorn Antelope with rifle in Gillette Wyoming. I'm also currently working directly with Buckmasters in trying to help them become more established in Pa. in regard to assisting Physically Challenged hunters. If you or someone you know needs assistance please feel free to contact me here via our private message feature and I'd be happy to help. Jeff
