Always nice to see! Are you in one of the relocation areas or was this just a survivor??

zodiak,I think this bird has survived a couple of seasons. Interesting thing about it is,there is no game lands with in 9 miles of this area and no co-op farms in the area either. When my Grandson came to pick me up this morning to go turkey scouting,he saw another one about a 1/2 mile from were we saw this one. About a month ago he saw 2 more a 1/2 mile in the other direction. We have heard them for the last 3 years or so cackling in the area. Haven't seen any hens, but I sure hope there are some in the area.

Could have been released by someone in the area dog training also and got away. I'd be tempted to go buy a couple hens & put them out!! ;D

This area surrounds where my Grandson lives. Nobody in the area, that we know off, trains or has bird dogs. There was a old farm just a mile up the road, that a few years ago had some wild birds on it. A couple of years ago some of it was sold off and some new homes put up. I belive some of those birds dispersed close by and are making it. Well at least that is what I hope. There are a couple of small patches of pretty good looking habitat that I think these birds are going to make it in.
