I made the long drive to Erie again on Friday. Fished Friday and hunted Saturday. As far as success goes, I guess it depends on how you look at it. No fish, no birds, but in my mind it was a great trip. I want to thank zodiakgsps and dknappy for the invitation to tag along with them on the bird hunt. What a day! We only put up two birds, but I got to watch a couple of well trained dogs do what they love. I won't go into all the details of the hunt, but there is a point I want to make. If you ever get a chance to travel to a different part of this great state to hunt with a fellow member of this site, don't let it pass. It was like I was hunting with old friends. They made me feel so at ease.
If you ever get an invitation from Anne to hunt birds, or even deer, go for it. If she tells you to hunt a certain area for deer, trust me, it's a good spot. We saw rubs and scrapes everywhere we went.
As for the fishing part of my trip, it sucked as far as catching went. But again, I had a great day. Met some good people. I know when spring comes, I'll be heading back up to fish the big lake. I have a good guide in Don(dknappy). He always puts me on fish.
Again, if you get a chance to meet another member from here, please do it. You won't be disappointed.
Anne and Don, thank you.
Oh yeah, congratulations Don on your pheasant.
Since I'm still a little worn out from the trip, I'll post fishing and hunting pics here.
