was talking this over with a friend the other day saying about how the pgc doesnt really even stock allegheny county and some parts of butler counties,i know that it costs the game commision big money in a pheasant stocking program so why not sell a phesant stamp??that way they could still stock birds for those people who love the sport so much,i know the money probably wouldnt go there anyways.

Buck, the stocking has been reduced statewide due to costs, there's even talk of stopping it altogether. I would support a stamp w/o hesitation as this is my favorite part of hunting season......what deer is to you & ML to Loggy & BCF, etc. I fully realize they are an introduced species, but have been stocked now for MANY years and would be a d*#n shame to stop now. T here's a migratory & duck stamp for those who enjoy that venue, why not a phez stamp as opposed to taking away one thing many enjoy above all other species to hunt?

I totaly support a pheasant stamp as long as the monies were guaranteed to go to the pheasant program. Not just stocking but also habitat improvement. Look what the Lake Erie stamp did for the Stealhead program and fishing access.

A pheasant stamp would be wonderful. It would secure the stockings and make it so only true bird chasers would be after them. There would be no more having to time the stockings to get into the birds.

With the license increase comes an increase in stocking. It's a sure thing. If there is ever an increase.

I guess I see things differently :: If a stamp was created then lots of people would quit hunting pheasant, not buy the stamp, and the predicament would still be the same; not enough money. I personally would not buy one and would wave bye-bye to any bird I happened to flush. It would only eventually start a cascade effect:: pheasant stamp, then turkey stamps, then buck stamps, and so on, and in the end still not enough money to do the job. The PGC needs an enema when it comes to money management, ans until a good financial expert straightens them out there will always be a money shortage.

I would support a stamp for pheasants as long as it is earmarked only for pheasants, not another vehicle for some large butt to ride around in and drive home after work. See an awful lot of vehicles taking people to work every day, why not just let them supply their own transportation to work like I did for many many years?

The PGC has not got a license increase for about 10 years. The cost of everything has gone up over that time. Simple to figure out the shortfall.
