Good luck everyone. Unfortunatly/fortunatly my nephew is coming over to try to get his first deer today so I don't think we will be going after pheasants. We already made plans for next weekend though.

I went out at first light. Stocked birds on a SGL. By myself, no dog. Flushed seven birds in two hours. I shot at three of them and never ruffled a feather. I was so frustrated, I went fishing. Caught four trout.

Started the AM out on woodcock/grouse (not the ANF, around here) to miss the crowds......only put up one grouse, never saw it - in real thick stuff- put up about 8 woodcock & I actually HIT ONE!!!!! ;D Started hunting phez about 10, got 2 roosters & Dutchess about sliced off the pad on the back of her front foot.......went home She's laying here now all bandaged up, poor girl, never even yelped, only reason we knew it happened was from the blood trail!!

Had a pretty good day today.....started out after grouse/woodcock again, put up 6 grouse, 3 woodcock and 5 phez. Got one woodcock, can't believe I missed the easiest shot I ever had on a grouse double.......dog was locked up tight, 2 came out, fairly open, close shot.... missed the phez also, but 3 ran & flushed far ahead, other 2 no real excuse. Tara on a grouse: didn't have a shot on this one, flew low & up the pines. Timberdoodle from today.....2 birds in 2 hunts, I'm on a roll, LOL!!(for me, that's a roll! ;D)

Went out with Joe & my gf Bonnie today...got rained on, but got our limits! ;D Had a blast...haven't hunted with Bonnie in a while (she has MS & can't walk for a long time), had a few multiple flushes too...lots of action! Couldn't take the digital in the rain.....got pointing pics, but with a disposable & it's not developed, but heres the birds-took these afterwards as the rain let off. Tara & her older brother Chief Buck and his little brother Duece

Actually, they do stock down you way, I have several friends in Pittsburgh from the GSP club who phez hunt......you just need to drive a little. (I drive 30 min to the closest place I hunt(don't hunt a lot there though, gets hammered) and 45-60 min to other spots. I drive almost 2 hrs to grouse hunt.)
