Hey Archery Bud's. In your travels if you would please keep your eyes peeled for the release pictured below that I'm searching for. It's no longer made, was made by Tru Fire and is called the "Split Fire" release. If you happen to see one for sale anywhere let me know please. I'll pay you for it, shipping and a finders fee as well. If you do see one and it's under say 10 bucks grab it please and don't ask questions and PM me. Price wise even during production and new they were on the low end of the price scale so if you should come across one be careful and use your best judgment as far as pricing. Anything over 20.00 total to my door is to much but some might be lying around in clearance bins somewhere as their popularity was limited. Doesn't have to be new either. The mechanics of them is very simple so as long as it works I'm interested as it for my boys. Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe I have one of these type of releases. I have no idea where it's at but I'll see if I can locate it. It has a retractable ball that locks onto the string until the trigger is activated.

Yep, a ball on each side holds the string. When you pull the trigger it retracts the pin on each side holding the balls closed allowing them to spring outward and the string coming free.
Thanks so much, you guys are fabulous.

Thanks Woody but the Magnum is different than the "Split Fire" that I'm looking for. The Magnum uses a swing out pin in the head to hold and release the string. You push the string into the slot in the release head and forward pressure causes the pin to close, seat and lock closed. When you squeeze the trigger to release, the pin unlocks, comes free and swings out of the way allowing the string to come free from the release.
The Magnum uses an entirely different mechanism than the "Spit Fire" model that I"m looking for.
I really do appreciate your effort, thoughtfulness and generosity in your willingness to send it along.
Thank you so much.
Jeff
