Yep,that's exactly the way it is.People really don't care. It's easier for them to complain. We send out questionaires to every hunter in TL that we require them to be returned by FEB.Several of us spend a few weeks every year calling these guys and hounding them to get em back to us.

Got any pictures of "Treasure lake?" At 50+deer per square mile it must be a barren wasteland. Yep,I just don't knwo how to post them.In fact,I don't think I can post them from my computer at work. You have got to be kidding me you own and insurance business and don’t own a digital camera and your office does not have a printer/scanner to scan 35mm shots you claim to have .

It could be that All State Insurance (Dubois, PA) doesn't use a digital scanner....but I doubt it. Then again it could be that with all "Doug's" activities such as weight lifting at the gym several times a week, horseback riding, daily stable duties (with horses you have to shovel a lot of ****), writing insurance policies for PGC employees, and scouting Treasure Lake for deer, his business is suffering and he can't afford a personal computer. Could be All State won't authorize a home computer for agents and he has to supply his own and can't.

Acyually crazyhorse, you're wrong as usual. The computers in my office are leased from IBM by Allstate.Even though I own my agency, and own everything else in my office, the technology is supllied by Allstate and they have total control over it.I can't even view alot of pictures that are posted. That's all changing though.I just bought two new computers and had a modem installed last week.By Sept 1ST, all agencies have to buy all of their own computers.I still have no use or reason to have a scanner. We use an outside vendor to inspect houses. The only time I have to take pictures is when a house fails an inspection. In that case,All I do is take picture with a digital camera and paste it to an e-mail.
I have tons of pictures of the habitat in Treasure lake on sd cards.Once my own technology is installed,I'll post some pictures.

Could be All State won't authorize a home computer for agents and he has to supply his own and can't. Nothing wrong with my business CH and there's no lack of time on my part.Every day I get up at 6:00 am and take care of my horses. It takes all of about 15 minutes.I usually get to work around 7:30 am and get a bunch of paper work done.I eat my lunch on the way to the gym, where I lift every day at noon.I close shop between 6-7:00pm.Usually a couple days a week I'll have an appointment on the road somewhere. The other days,I usually work a horse or two. It's usually about 8:00 pm by the time I get home.Pretty much every weekend from April until Sept we spend at least one day running barrels, poles or penning cows. The other free day,I spend at least part of it in the woods. This past weekend we didn't have any shows because my daughter was in a play friday night and on saturday.I watched her on Friday and loaded a horse up early saturday morning and headed to bell draft hollow, above Bennezette. We road about 20 miles on saturday, seeing quite a few deer and a couple huge bull elk on Elk state forest. One thing everyone commented on was how thick the woods were getting. I AM pretty busy.In fact, alot busier than most.Still,I focus my free time wisely and find time to scout year round, even though it's not as much as I used to.DURING HUNTING SEASON,I hunt almost exclusively on saturdays with about three weekday afternoons thrown in there during the entire archery season. The only days I ever take off are the first day of deer season and the first day of bear season.I've never once taken a vacation to hunt except for to go out west. It's really not that hard to be successful on public land, especially if you know enough to avoid the areas that really shouldn't have alot of deer.

Doug I paid $50 for my HP printer/scanner with camera card reader at Wal-Mart. hardly an extravagant purchase for a man that can afford to live in a gated community owns how many horses, a gym membership and travels the state killing deer where ever he hunts. Maybe we could all pitch in and buy poor Doug some technology. I sure would like to see all these pictures you have and some trail camera pictures from you showing all these deer you see inside these areas full of superb habitat. heck i would be happy with you posting deer from tl and its pityful habitat they must be all skin and bones ;D ;D ;D

Where did I say that I couldn't afford a scanner?I simply never had any use for one and still don't.At this point,Allstate owns the technology in my office but that will all change by september. There's alot of sites that I can't even access and at this point. I have to be careful what I use these computers for.Besides, other than attaching pictures to a specific e-mail address,I don't even know how to post them.I'll figure it out by the end of september though.
Check out the property values in TL.You'll laugh at how cheap the houses and lots are.In fact, you can find dozens of lots for free back there.Hardly an extragant place to live.I own two horses that cost me about 100 bucks a month to feed and my gym membership costs me $35 a month.I live well below my means.
Most of my trail cam pictures are from Treasure lake and you won't find any superb habitat there.I haven't put any cameras out yet this year but I'd gladly give you my sd cards from last year.

Doug, using company computers doe suck. I understand what and why they do the restrictions, but they have photobucket blocked on us at work and so I miss alot of pics that get posted unless I look them up at home on my stone age dial up. But that's what I get from moving out to a secondary road that they don't ven run cable down for the three farms on my road. Don't understand why they block photobucket, yet you can get on myspace, etc. (not Youtube though). Makes no sense. They even blocked me from a striper fishing MB because I guess our IT department can't spell (stripper vs. striper, LOL)

I'm in the same boat.I can't view alot of pictures that are posted either.A FEW YEAR AGO, buddy of mine was looking for some of those scented candles called hot trails.I googled it up for him and mistakenly typed in Hot tails.I was waiting for the Allstate police to show up after what popped up on my screen.I've had my access blocked temporarily many times on several different message boards,I was even blocked from The lone wolf website because it was considered gross and distasteful.
I don't know alot about technology.I have a bachleors degree in Business Admin from PSU but never had to use a computer while I was in collge.I guees I just missed the rage by a few years. In any event,I never really had the need or the desire to figure most of it out.We have a computer at home but can't remember the last time I ever turned it on.I don't mind bring made fun of because I lack computer skills but it burns my azz to be called liar.

Got any pictures of "Treasure lake?" At 50+deer per square mile it must be a barren wasteland. I got pics of what the habitat looks like at 50 + deer per square mile in an area that is almost completely void of AG. crops. You might be shocked. I also got pics of an area that has never had more than 5 deer per square mile and you would also be shocked. Pike

Doug but mine probably are the complete opposite of yours. ;D My pics of the area that has 50 + DPSM looks like a jungle and the area that never had more than 5 DPSM you can see forever with nothing but ferns growing and covering the forest floor. Pike

Where did the deer numbers come from and how long did those areas have those densities?

The numbers came from me. The area with 50 + DPSM is my area in OH. and it has been like for over 10 years now. When I first got the property over 10 years ago the DPSM was even higher. The area with less than 5 DPSM has been like that for 40 years and probable forever (the area I gre up spending my summers in NH.) You already seen the pics on HPA. a few years ago. Pike
