Last year I started using a 17 for Squirrel and now I am hooked.
Any one else have same experiences?

Been usin my CZ 452 American 22 LR with CCI Velocitors.
Heard the 16 blows them up? What ur experience archer131?

Actually just the opposite..... I primarily focus on head shots and have not shot under 30yds. Does the job but I have not seen a ton of damage. My first time out last year I shot 8 times at 6 squirrel with excellent results. I will double check what round I was using.

Thanks archer131. I may have to consider one of those 17's. I believe there is more ammo selection now as when they first came out.

the 17 is a great little round goes up to a 22 grain bullet now. it all depends what round your using and where you hit the animal, i have made quater size holes in fox already with them.

i have never used the 17cal. i thought it would really tear a squirrel up , i have tried the 22wmr and it certainly does , its head shots only!!!!
