As we all know Mouser season starts here in PA. on Monday as a firm Mouser hunter I have finally created the *The bullet* and load for this hunt... I have taken a 338-06 as a base for the cartridge and drill the prime hole out for a 209 shotgun primer ( makes it faster & easier to load) with this I added 3 grs. of 700X and filled the case with pillow stuffing, top off with now get this a bullet made of *Hot Glue* melted and pour into a Lyman 338 mould....( For the untrained people do not try this load) To try this load out before season I went cat hunting> I figure go after the mices worst enemy... So with gun in hand it is off to the barn for the stray cat... As it happens as I pull in thru the doors on my ATV I spy old Tom.. Taking careful aim over the handle bars I touch off this max load.. With a easy touch of the trigger one cat howls and jumps in the air rolls over twice and takes of on a dead run never to be seen again..... I've got the rifle, the shell and most of all the right bullet for the job.. So this year with all my updated equipment and a thermo full of coffee mixed with Jimmy Beam I'm ready for this wonderful hunting season. Wish me luck come Monday the Super Mouser will be in my sights... MM
Some people are like slinkies......not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs! Mauserman 10-6

Whitetail101, It ain't the killin' that is important, it's the thrill of making up a new load for your favorite cannon and then actually getting it to work. I personally use my .458 Win. I drill out the center and fill with peanut butter. Kinda like giving them one last meal right at execution time, and if you're out on a day with no mouse action, you can always suck out the peanut butter for a snack

Wonderful meal you folks need to get an invite to one of his wild game feeds... I always take a few Tums or Rolaids with me... Some of his derserts are just out of this world.... You women should take some cooking lesson from him.... He can save you a lot on your food bills and you won't need to cut coupons out of the paper...Heh-heh MM

Mouse hunting and trapping is a great passtime , but i have found that a ole stray cat is much more efficient , but they dont leave much for stew. ;D ;D

rs, you ain't seeing the potential here. You don't rely on a stray cat to catch the mousies, you make it a two game season and hunt them too!!
