Any opinions on Triple Se7ens storage life??
Been reading that some think it gradually loses potency over time VS black powder???

I had quite a few misfires this year from a box that was 4 years old. Can't tell you exactly why though.

Maybe pellet age is a problem dougell. I have read several places that they lose potency & a misfire surely would go with that condition/deterioration.
I know the factory boxes of T-7 pellets are not air tight like loose powder containers are. They merely have a lil shrink wrap around the middle & thats it(likely for a safety break seal). Ive been putting mine in one quart freezer bags. It seems that they could draw moisture etc. in the factory box.

I quit using the pellets because they soak up water like a sponge. I had a sealed bottle of cleanshot that was one solid hard mass after two years. I found that loose triple 7 and black Mag would start to clump in opened containers. So, I poured the stuff in a plastic bowl and mashed it up with my fingers and then sealed the re-filled bottles in Vacuum sealer bags. I've shot Dupont black FFFg, from the old tin cans, that was over 20 years old with no problem.

Havent heard of any 1-2 year deterioration but some said over 3-4 yrs they started to notice some loss of potency.

None ever reported ignition problems..just a slide off in performance based on Chrony reads. Some of them hot 209s would likely ignite sand!!! ;D
