i seen these kits to build your own,that would make it extra special or is it just better to buty a flinter??

Depends on what you want and what you want to spend. It also depends on if you have the talent and know how as to how to put together a kit gun. If you buy a production gun you might be ok. You get what you pay for. Buy a "REAL" kit and you will need to do a little work. Its like comparing apples and oranges. I have a Lyman Great Plains in a 54 cal flintlock. I thought it was a great gun. It is a great production gun and has never let me down---HOWEVER if you move up and spend a little more you get a custom gun---A complete joy to shoot and very different from a production gun that is set for the avg Joe--what ever that is---A custom gun is designed for you----and fits you like a glove!!!
